Theo Von and Joe Rogan unite again on the “This Past Weekend” podcast episode #403. Early on, TikTok comes up due to Joe Rogan making the front page of Fox News for questioning the app’s terms of service. Joe Rogan calls the app spyware after learning what the app has access to. He explains that TikTok has access to computers that aren’t even used for TikTok. Even more concerning is that he says TikTok is listening to us. Rogan then gives his opinion about how TikTok may want intellectual property. A software engineer also said the app was a complete invasion of privacy. The concern is that the data is being sent overseas to be used against US users.
Theo Von then makes light of the situation by asking, “well, how much BS would China have to listen to.” Lol true. Imagine a bunch of employees having to sort through all the stuff picked up from the mics. Having conversations, cooking dinner, arguing, etc. It would take forever.
The thought of what could happen if things go wrong leads to a new topic. Theo Von asks Joe Rogan what he would do if the apocalypse happened. “You have 90 minutes before you start to feel some pressure. What do you do?” asks Von. “I’d probably load up some magazines,” says Rogan. “Into what?” asks Von. “Into guns,” responds Rogan. Theo Von then leans back, cracks a wide grin, and says, “see, I didn’t know if you were at the periodical section or what. I’m like, dang, this guy’s crazy. This guy’s taking information with him into a bunker.” The two laugh like they’ve been pals their entire lives.
Onward, Von’s next question to Rogan is: where would you hold up in? Rogan explains that it’d have to be some fortified establishment. But Theo Von, his place of choice is the mall. If things go haywire, he’s posting up in the mall and pretending to be a mannequin. Honestly, this isn’t a bad idea. The fact that Cinnabon is there and he’ll have some delicious cinnamon rolls to enjoy makes it a prime candidate.
Next, Theo Von and Joe Rogan talk about how wild people can get when things go wrong. Von recounts a time when he got stuck in an elevator. Everyone started freaking out. It made me think back. Personally, I’ve only been stuck in an elevator one time. It was in a corporate office located in downtown Atlanta. I remember vividly feeling like all my worst dreams were suddenly coming true. When the elevator stopped, I couldn’t help but think it would cut loose and race toward the ground. I clicked the emergency button. After what felt like forever, the operator picked up. I was trying to keep cool, but to be honest, I was kinda sketched out. The emergency lady said, “where are you located?” I was like, “uh, I don’t know. In an elevator.” She said, “I know. What floor?” I started to sweat. I didn’t know what floor. I started feeling my eyes look up at the ceiling and then down to the floor. I began strategizing how I would survive if things went south. It came down to me jumping at the precise moment the elevator hit the ground when randomly, the elevator opened, and bruh, I was in the for only two mins.
Picking back up, Joe Rogan asks Theo Von if he’s ever been in a riot. Von’s response is hilarious! Check out the video below and share the laughs with someone in your life!
